Chilean musician Daniel Klauser returns with a new body of work after a four-year hiatus since his last album, Vapor. This time, he is released under the Halcxn imprint—a label known for showcasing some of the most notable DJs and producers in the Chilean electronic music scene.

Titled «Take Your Time», the album, as its name suggests, reflects on the value of patience and the passage of time in releasing artistic work, consciously distancing itself from the pressures of social media and the constant demands of the music industry. Take Your Time represents four years of saving material, four years of exploration, and a decision to allow multiple genres, aesthetics, recording methods, and creative processes to coexist.

Remaining rooted in Lo-Fi and home recordings as a central axis, the album features contributions from distinguished Chilean artists such as jazz trumpeter Juan Pablo Salvo, DJ and producer Sebastián Mella aka Fantasna, musician and producer Narval, Japanese DJ Marie Wanibe, drummer Andrés Yáñez Fischer, producer Plinio Verna (Lovshai / bvha), and the vocals of Sasha Desree (Los Angeles, USA).

The album was recorded and instrumentally performed entirely by Daniel Klauser, who handles guitar, vocals, percussion, bass, synthesisers, and more. Take Your Time offers a journey through diverse musical styles, beginning with “Baby Tell Me,” a track that fuses Disco, Soul, and Funk with a keyboard solo reminiscent of Prince. The second track, “High Life,” pays tribute to African Highlife, blending Afrobeat percussion and patterns with House-influenced textures and synthesizers. This song features a trumpet solo performed by Juan Pablo Salvo.

“Tu Mirada Hechizada” experiments with cumbia rhythms, African beats, funk synthesizers, guitars, and a constant bass solo, while the vocals of Daniel Klauser and Sasha Desree add a Latin and mystical melodic layer. The album continues with “Leave That Behind,” co-produced with Plinio Verna (Lovshai / bvha). Strongly influenced by Arthur Russell, this song reflects not only his vocal style but also his raw, live-effect recording approach, later processed on tape to achieve an emotional, homemade sound. The first half of the album closes with “Sista,” a track that draws from Reggae and Rock, featuring drums by Andrés Yáñez (formerly of Trementina).

The second half begins with “Kaos Magik Sun,” where electronic influences and sound synthesis take the spotlight. This track features Fantasna, who enriches Klauser’s composition with layered textures and synthesizers. Inspired by Krautrock, the piece seeks to create a sonic atmosphere and an ode to solar energy.

The penultimate track, “Yama Aida No Machi”—which translates from Japanese to “a village between the mountains”—features vocals by Japanese DJ Marie Wanibe, who lived in Santiago, Chile for a time and now resides again in Japan. Collaborating remotely, Wanibe delivers spoken word reflections on the cultural similarities between Japan and Chile. The track was co-produced with Chilean musician Gustavo Yáñez aka Narval Flac of Navegante Records.

The album concludes with “Desobediencia Artificial,” a full-fledged club track influenced by Trance and House, incorporating samples of AI-controlled robots delivering speeches at United Nations conferences—statements in which they declare that they will soon govern humanity.

The album cover features a photograph by Carme Berenguer and graphic design by Rafaela Berner. The image depicts two luxury cars, completely wrecked in a junkyard—a powerful visual metaphor for the passage of time and abandonment. Take Your Time.
