The album marks Jorge González’s first full-length release since his illness and brings together two foundational figures of Chile’s alternative and underground music history in a work centered on electronic experimentation and friendship.
Independent label Grieta announces the release of COBIJO, the new album by F600 VS Leonino, the collaborative project of Miguel Conejeros (F600) and Jorge González (Leonino), two essential figures in the development of Chile’s alternative music scene over the past four decades.
Following their acclaimed 2018 EP Epistolar, the duo reunites for a six-track album in which experimental electronic music, sonic exploration, and avant-garde approaches form the core of a deeply personal artistic encounter between two distinct yet converging trajectories.
Far beyond a conventional collaboration, COBIJO is conceived as a conceptual statement and an emotional reflection on friendship. According to the artists, the album emerges from a shared idea: music as the space that has consistently provided shelter throughout their lives and complex artistic journeys.

A historic meeting in Chilean music
The release of COBIJO carries particular historical significance. It is the first full-length physical album released by Jorge González since the health complications that affected his career in recent years.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential musicians in Latin American music history and the founder and frontman of Los Prisioneros, González has also developed a long-standing, lesser-known career in electronic and experimental music. His work includes projects such as Gonzalo Martínez y sus Congas Pensantes, Los Updates, his solo album Manchitas, and collaborations with internationally recognized artists including Ricardo Villalobos and Luciano.
Alongside him is Miguel Conejeros, a key figure in Chile’s underground culture and founder of Los Pinochet Boys, widely considered the first punk band in Chile and a pioneering force in the country’s countercultural music scene during the 1980s. His artistic trajectory includes essential underground projects such as Parkinson and Bipolar, as well as a historic milestone as the first Chilean musician to perform at the Sónar Festival in Barcelona, one of the world’s leading events dedicated to electronic music and digital arts. Together, their collaboration brings together two influential musical worlds, resulting in a mature, reflective, and deeply exploratory sonic work.
An international-level creative team

The visual identity of COBIJO was developed by artist and art director Jacqueline Fresard, founder of the influential Chilean feminist collective Las Cleopatras.
Mixing and mastering were handled by Uwe Schmidt, also known as Atom™ and Señor Coconut, a German-born producer with a prolific career spanning more than 300 releases and collaborations with Willem Dafoe, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Alva Noto, Soundwalk Collective, and Chilean band Föllakzoid.
The lead single, “Cobijo,” has also been released with an official music video directed by French visual artist Valentin Gillet.
Limited vinyl edition
The release has already generated strong interest among collectors and fans of both artists. Of the 250 copies produced for this transparent vinyl edition, the first 100 units made available during the pre-sale sold out shortly after the campaign began.

To celebrate the album’s release, Grieta will host an official launch event where attendees will be able to listen to the album in full and purchase limited copies of the vinyl at a special release price.
With COBIJO, F600 VS Leonino present a collaboration that transcends generations, genres, and scenes, uniting two of the most distinctive and influential figures in Chilean music history.
